What is your body trying to tell you?

I am sick. I rarely get sick. I consider myself a pretty hale and hardy gal. In fact (knocking wildly on wood), I don't remember the last time I had "just" a cold. It has probably been 5 years. I still don't have one of those, but a couple of days ago, my throat just started killing me, and I developed a dry, raspy, choking cough.

Yuck, right? So yesterday, my coach asked me, "what is your throat trying to tell you?" From this simple and powerful question came so much depth and resonance.

My request for you: slow down and listen to your body. What is it telling you? What does that runny nose, aching back, pounding head, itchy spot want you to know? There is deep wisdom there, if you breathe, close your eyes, and train your senses on the spots that are talking to you.

5 days until I go to Co-Active Leadership Retreat 1. Words can't adequately express my excitement and joy, felt so deep even through this illness.
